Preferred Care's You're In Charge!sm has been awarded first place in the Rochester Business Journal's 2003 Health Care Achievement Awards.

The newly created awards recognize excellence and honor the efforts of organizations and individuals for their impact on the quality of health care in our community.

You're In Charge!sm won a Corporate Achievement in Health Care award for our community health education program that has involved more than 6,000 people since it began in 1999. The program offers a variety of classes to members of all ages, groups and interests. More than 1,550 people took advantage of 30 different programs in 2002.

You're In Charge!sm also began an outreach program last year to encourage healthy living throughout Preferred Care's nine-county service area. More than 6,400 people have attended these presentations that range from common sense nutrition to stress awareness and reduction.

You're In Charge!sm is part of Preferred Care's commitment to making it easier for members to learn new ways to live well .
