Have you applied for an NPI?
Preferred Care continues to work with health care providers
transitioning to National Provider Identifiers (NPIs)
A National Provider Identifier (NPI) is a unique 10-digit identifier assigned to a health care provider for use in conducting various transactions with other health care entities. Applying for and using an NPI is mandated under the HIPAA Electronic Health Care Transactions and Code Sets regulations.
| How and Where to Apply for NPIs |
| You may apply for your NPI either online or by mail. Please remember to include your Preferred Care Provider ID on the application. This will help to ensure smooth billing and payment operations as we transition to this Federally-mandated identification system. |
