Preferred Care USdirect is a health plan that uses a PPO network. A PPO, or Preferred Provider Organization, is a national network of hospitals, doctors, and health care professionals who are contracted with Preferred Care to provide care at discounted rates.

Preferred Care USdirect offers great coverage for you and your family with a focus on preventive care:

• low copays for doctor office visits;
• low copays for well-child visits, checkups, and physicals to age 18;
• low copays for sick-child visits during regular office hours (depending on plan);
• specialist visits (no referrals required);
• maternity care;
• pre- and post-natal care;
• hospitalization;
• surgical and other medical procedures;
• inpatient and outpatient hospital services;
• lab work and X-rays;
• medically-necessary chiropractic services;
• diabetic equipment, drugs, and supplies;
• around-the-world coverage, no referral needed;
• urgent care in and out of the service area;
• routine gynecological exams;
• childhood immunizations and vaccinations;
• mammogram and Pap screens; and
• routine vision exams and medical eye exams.

Choose the doctor you want

As a Preferred Care USdirect member, you don’t have to choose a Primary Care Physician (PCP) to manage your care. You can visit any doctor who is part of the Preferred Care network (in-network). Preferred Care works with Private health care Systems (PHCS) to give you access to a national network (except in Oregon) of health care providers and facilities. Access to health care providers in the state of Oregon is provided through the MultiPlan network. You can also choose to visit a doctor who is not part of the network (out-of-network) at a higher cost.

When you enroll in Preferred Care USdirect, you are eligible for $50 in HealthDollars to spend during the year on any health, wellness, or fitness program nationwide.
